Reduce your stroke risk with mindful movement.

With modern lifestyles: our diets, exercise (or lack there of…) high stress jobs and now with the holidays in full swing; it is so important to take care of one’s self!

Some of the best medicine doesn’t come in a bottle. Exercise, whole plant foods, supportive relationships, and laughter, for instance, are all fantastic for your health and well-being. (Though wouldn’t it be great if we could bottle laughter?) So, too, are relaxing practices such as yoga and tai chi, according to a study on reducing the risk of stroke. For stroke survivors, who are at increased risk of another stroke, tai chi and gentle yoga may be especially accessible forms of exercise, but anyone can benefit from these ancient practices. Often called “meditation in motion,” tai chi involves slow-motion movement and deep breathing.
